LAMAT (STAR)/TOCHTLI (RABBIT)

mayan aztec lamat glyph by Michael Giza

1-Lamat Trecena’s theme: Renewal
Begins 26 June 2017
Aztec deity ruling all Lamat days: Mayahuel (Goddess of Maguey)

Lamat Concepts

The Mayan symbol for Lamat is a star (Venus) while the Aztec symbol for Tochtli is a rabbit’s head. Lamat days are shining and full of abundance. They are good days for business negotiations and signing contracts where money is involved. But the rabbit’s abundance has a dark side—it can lead to overindulgence and other excesses. Lamat is also related to astrology and other forms of divination. The rabbit symbolizes debauchery, overindulgence, wastefulness, greed, and taking more than a fair share.
