Cimi Concepts

The Mayan glyph for Cimi is a stylized skull; the Aztec glyph for Miquiztli is a skull. Cimi is change, endings, and profound transformations. It represents stripping something to its bare bones, its underlying framework, so it can be understood or rebuilt. On these days, some can communicate with the dead. Reflecting fear of change and of the unknown, Cimi is cessation of movement, energy, and ideas, and may symbolize death.
